The very first thing you must decide is what type of bike rider you would like to be. This is going to dictate which type of bike you will choose to ride. Do you want to ride on paved roads or do you prefer off-road technical trails OR would you rather a combination of both. There are lots of types of bikes however for purposes of this guide we are going to talk about four in this section.
When you go into your local bike shop they are going to ask what type of bike you are interested in. Once you decide on your bike, they are also going to inform you that, depending on which bike your prefer, you will also need to buy pedals and cleats for the bottom of your cycling shoes. They are also going to ask you whether or not you want to buy water bottle cages to put your water in. These attach to the frame of your bike. All of these items are recommended and DO NOT come with a bike so when they ask the question, it's legit.
