An article came up in my Facebook newsfeed this morning and it was entitled "I Feel Awesome At 75. Here's How I Did It.". I thought humph...interesting...I bet this is worth reading and it was! She basically broke it down into three categories: (1) diet (good nutrition), (2) exercise, and (3) mindset. I think my heart sang as I wholeheartedly agree! SO, lets take a look at these.
EXERCISE
MINDSET Stress, negative self-talk and any form of self-deprecation are the number one culprits for holding people back from where they are wanting to go or where or how they see themselves. An example is myself. Holy cow the things I used to say to myself when I looked in the mirror. I was fat, ugly, pinching at myself, disgusted, I think even the words fat fuck came to mind. Yup! Then I hit on to Louise Hay and I got started on mirror work with affirmations.
And even though sometimes I still can get into that negative self-talk headspace there really is this underlying knowing that I'm beautiful no matter what!
SO you must come up with techniques to work with your stress and any form of self-deprecation. These can include: affirmations, meditation, your favourite way to exercise, eating well, cooking, reading personal development books or positive quotes, gratitude projects, surrounding yourself with people who are positive and that lift you up, getting out for a walk in nature, dancing, singing, yoga, SUP'ing. Do whatever it is that lights you up and makes you feel GOOD! It doesn't matter what age you start just that you start. If you're not sure if what you are doing is correct then seek someone out like myself to find out. #puravidamavericks
