Learn New Skills - Build Confidence
Meet Smart Women - Do Fun Things!
Meet Smart Women - Do Fun Things!
If:
- You’re intimidated to go out and ride with a bunch of people you don’t know (and mostly guys)
- You’re afraid or tired of being the last person in a group ride (this is supposed to be fun, not a competition, right?!)
- You’re nervous or tired of riding alone and you haven’t found the right group of women to ride with ... until NOW
- You want to ride in a safe and supportive environment while meeting other like-minded positive women
Then THE MAVERICKS is your solution!
This riding group is more than just a riding group...it’s a community. One where riding is fun, safety is at the forefront and someone else does a LOT of the heavy lifting and planning for you (yep - no more burning out on the SAME old RIDES again and again).
Is this right for me?
If you’re looking for an amazing community of women to ride with so you're not riding alone, want to boost your confidence and you're looking to grow, then the Pura Vida Mavericks may be right for you.
I know what you might be thinking “This is out of my league” or, “I’m not fast enough” or, “I don’t what to hold the group up”, etc. News flash! I've heard all these same thoughts before a million times and I can tell you confidently that these are your fears showing UP as excuses and MOST female riders suffer from these same thoughts as they shift into becoming more confident and competent riders. If you meet the criteria outlined above under Members Info & Rider Requirements, I’m here to tell you that you can totally do this and I want YOU to be a part of it and find out how amazing you are! |
Who Am I?
I’m Paige, the founder of the Pura Vida Mavericks.
Here's what I'm about:
My motto is that safety comes first above all else. I teach what I teach as I’m super passionate about keeping people safe and supported while riding in groups and with a set of killer bike handling skills.
It’s not to say that things don’t happen even to the best of us but this is my priority. I make sure NO ONE IS LEFT BEHIND EVER end of story. Everyone is left feeling amazing about themselves after every single ride. |
I have asked the Mavericks what sets us apart from the rest and why they choose to ride with the Mavericks and here is what they have said:
- They love what I do and how I go about it as I offer organized and structured rides with a variety of cycling routes.
- I'm there to field any questions and to keep everyone propelling forward with more confidence.
- They love to watch the way I ride and learn from it visually.
- They know that I care a lot and that safety is huge and that because I'm so passionate about biking and how it can change lives that my enthusiasm and positivity shine as we're doing what we love. It truly comes straight from my heart.
- I've also been told our rides are like 'therapy'.
SO...
if you are looking for a fun place to meet smart women and do fun things that will also challenge you physically. Where you will grow and gain health and get accountability in the process. And where you will be inspired and challenged to do things you might not do on your own, then being a part of the Pura Vida Mavericks is for you!

How does this work?
We meet every Monday evening (except stat holidays) from 6:30pm to around 8:30pm. You get a calendar emailed to you before the 1st of each month and weekly to let you know when and where our rides are located for the week.
We will be meeting in Midhurst and Craighurst, to give us a wide range of ride routes and terrain to have fun on with super quiet roads to boot.

What are the rides NOT?
The Mavericks rides are NOT:
If you come to the rides with your own training plan agenda then this is NOT the group for you.
The Mavericks are about being fit and healthy and having fun while being active and doing something we love with other like-minded women. Women supporting women who love to ride and be social.
- a competition
- leaving anyone behind
- for drama, complaining or negativity
- a cycling bootcamp
- a hard core training ride
- a skills clinic or private lesson (you can sign up for my Learn To Ride, Climbing & Gearing Road Clinics or a Private Road Lesson)

What happens if it rains on our ride night?
If it rains, the ride is cancelled.
Do we make up the ride for the stat holiday on another night?
There is no ride the week of the statutory holiday.
When do they start and where do we meet?
The group rides start the first Monday in May with our last ride being the third Monday in September. We will be riding out of two locations - Midhurst and Craighurst. Both of these locations, provide for amazing terrain, quiet roads and all sorts of beautiful ride routes. We will alternate weeks between the two locations and reminders will be emailed to you weekly.
