ROAD BIKE CLINIC
and
EAT LIKE AN ATHLETE LUNCH MAKING SESSION
WHAT IS A MAVERICK?
Maverick [mav-er-ik, mav-rik] Noun
A “maverick” is a trail-blazer; an independent-minded person. Someone who has a free spirit, is original, not bound to the "normal" and takes the road less travelled.
Does that tweak your interest or sound like you? If so, keep reading!
WHO IS THIS ROAD BIKE CLINIC FOR ANYWAY?
This road clinic is for you if you say “YES” to one or more of the following:
- You have already fallen over (possibly more than once!) forgetting to clip out of your pedals when you stopped
- Your bike has been ridden enough now that you notice the dirt
- Your bike seat no longer makes your nether regions sore – yeah you know what I’m talking about!
- You haven’t had coaching sessions OR you have been learning from your girlfriend/ boyfriend/husband or wife AND (drum roll please) it’s NOT working out so well for you :)
- You consider one or more of these your nemesis OR feel a bit uncomfortable with any of the following: climbing, descending, gearing, cornering or riding in a group AND you want to gain more confidence in a supportive environment with experienced certified coaches
- You want to learn how to fuel your body with food and make healthy nutritious choices for your rides and overall well-being
- You want to learn what the top stretches and core exercises are for cyclists that will keep your body strong and in tip top shape
- You want to have FUN, feel ALIVE and leave the day feeling HAPPY!
If you answered YES to any of the above statements, then, keep on reading!
WHAT SHOULD I BE ABLE TO DO ON A ROAD BIKE BEFORE TAKING THIS CLINIC?
- ride for 2 hours straight (approx. 50kms) at an average of 22kms to 25kms per hour
- ride with shoes that attach you to your bike by pedals and cleats (aka “clipless” and an oxymoron if you ask me!)
- hold a straight line at least 2 feet behind the cyclist in front of you (aka drafting)
- eat and drink while riding

NOW the question remains, do you want to be a Pura Vida “Maverick”?
Here’s what one of my client’s had to say about my recent Learn to Ride in a Group clinic.
“The overall knowledge, patience, and compassion of the coaches were incredible. They never made you feel as if you were holding anybody up or weighing down the group. They gave very thorough descriptions and guidance always watching you to help with feedback and advice. You could ask any question at any time and it was always answered. Paige being a Holistic Nutritionist was also a huge bonus! She was able to cover all aspects of building and nourishing your body to get the most out of it for your rides and overall health.”
